Reheating in an Early Supersymmetric Universe
نویسنده
چکیده
Motivated by a recent discussion about the role of flat directions, a typical feature of supersymmetric models, in the process of particle production in the early universe a consistent model of inflation and preheating in supergravity with MSSM fields has been built. It is based on a model proposed by M. Kawasaki, M. Yamaguchi and T. Yanagida. In the inflationary stage, the flat directions acquire large vacuum expectation values (VEVs) without spoiling the background of slow-roll, high-scale inflation consistent with the latest WMAP5 observational data. In the stage of particle production, naturally following inflation, the role of flat direction large VEVs depends strongly on effects connected with the supergravity framework and nonrenormalizable terms in the superpotential, which have been neglected so far in the literature. Such effects turn out to be very important, changing the previous picture of preheating in the presence of large flat direction VEVs by allowing for efficient preheating from the inflaton.

Thermal Production of Axinos in the Early Universe
We compute the thermal axino production rate in supersymmetric QCD to leading order in the gauge coupling. Using hard thermal loop resummation and the Braaten–Yuan prescription, we obtain a finite result in a gauge-invariant way, which takes into account Debye screening in the hot quark–gluon–squark–gluino plasma. The relic axino density from thermal reactions in the early Universe is evaluated...
متن کاملThermal and Non-Thermal Production of Gravitinos in the Early Universe
The excessive production of gravitinos in the early universe destroys the successful predictions of nucleosynthesis. The thermal generation of gravitinos after inflation leads to the bound on the reheating temperature, TRH < ∼ 10 9 GeV. However, it has been recently realized that the non-thermal generation of gravitinos in the early universe can be extremely efficient and overcome the thermal p...
متن کاملAXINOS AS DARK MATTER IN THE UNIVERSE a ARND BRANDENBURG and FRANK D. STEFFEN
The axino is the fermionic superpartner of the axion. Assuming the axino is the lightest supersymmetric particle and stable due to R-parity conservation, we compute the relic axino density from thermal reactions in the early Universe. From the comparison with the WMAP results, we find that thermally produced axinos could provide the dominant part of cold dark matter, for example, for an axino m...
متن کاملSupermassive gravitinos, dark matter, leptogenesis and flat direction baryogenesis
In general the gravitino mass and/or the soft supersymmetry breaking masses in the observable sector can be much larger than the TeV scale. Depending on the relation between the masses, new important channels for gravitino production in the early Universe can arise. Gravitinos with a mass above 50 TeV decay before big bang nucleosynthesis, which leads to relaxation of the well known bound on th...
متن کاملNeutrino masses and Baryogenesis via Leptogenesis in the Exceptional Supersymmetric Standard Model
Netrino oscillation experiments discover that (left-handed) neutrinos have masses much less than charged leptons and quarks in the Standard Model. One solution to the light neutrino mass puzzle is the seesaw model where right-handed neutrinos are introduced with large Majorana masses. The heavy Majorana right-handed neutrinos lead to lepton number violation in the early universe. They decay int...
متن کاملNon - Thermal Production of Dangerous Relics in the Early Universe
Many models of supersymmetry breaking, in the context of either supergravity or superstring theories, predict the presence of particles with weak scale masses and Planck-suppressed couplings. Typical examples are the scalar moduli and the gravitino. Excessive production of such particles in the early Universe destroys the successful predictions of nucleosynthesis. In particular, the thermal pro...
